Health and Wellness degree program covers various aspects of overall health from behavioral and physical health, public
policy, nutrition, wellness education, therapeutic communication and health psychology, among other subjects. The
diverse curriculum found in this program will help prepare students to serve in a variety of health and wellness
occupations. Our health and wellness degree provides an in-depth curriculum that will prepare you for a career in this
rewarding field. Health and wellness professionals provide support, encouragement, and education to people looking to
lead healthier lives and prevent illness or injury. Within this program you will also learn about nutrition, fitness and
exercise, community health and welfare. Graduates may work in business, community, or health care settings, helping
people improve and maintain their health and well-being.

There are five focus areas within this program:

  • Broad Health Knowledge Base: Gain familiarity and knowledge with multiple influencing mental, physical and spiritual health factors, theoretical perspectives, nutrition, exercise, psychology, stress management, and complimentary/alternative medicines.
  • Application of Knowledge: Learn to assess and implement plans appropriate to the needs of the individual across the different areas of nutrition, exercise science, health psychology, stress management, and complimentary/alternative medicines.
  • Research Methods: Learn to critically evaluate and stay informed in the areas of nutrition, exercise science, community health, stress management and complimentary/alternative medicines
  • Ethics and Values: Learn ethical, professional and legal standards and practices in health and wellness.
  • Global and Community Awareness: Demonstrate an understanding of cultural and community impact on health and wellness, and literacy in methods of implementation and promotion of wellness through multicultural literacy.

Health and wellness professionals provide support, encouragement, and education to people looking to
lead healthier lives and prevent illness or injury. Within this program you will also learn about nutrition, fitness and
exercise, community health and welfare.

Admissions Process

We want to be sure your career goals are in line with your selected program of study. Our admission process will help you understand our programs and the career expectations in the field.

Five Simple Steps:

  1. Visit the campus. See what Brookline and the Health and Wellness. program is all about.
  2. Complete a Visitor Information Form.
  3. Complete a financial aid interview to develop a financial plan.
  4. Complete the Enrollment Agreement with an Admissions Representative to include collecting all necessary documentation.
  5. Meet with the Director of Education, or an appropriate Department Director to discuss any unusual enrollment circumstances or accommodations needed to successfully complete the program.

Once all requirements have been completed, the Director of Admissions, Director of Education, and Campus Director reviews the application for approval. Applicants are notified of their acceptance promptly.

Accreditation

Accreditation is the recognition that an institution maintains the standards required to achieve the credentials for professional practice. It is the status granted to an institution that meets or exceeds specific criteria of educational quality as defined by the accrediting agency.

  • Institutional Accreditation: Brookline College’s Phoenix, Tucson, Tempe, and Albuquerque campuses are accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).

The BSN pre-licensure program is currently on probation with the Arizona Board of Nursing (“AZBON”).  Brookline entered a consent agreement with AZBON, which requires Brookline to submit monthly reports.  The agreement can be found on the Arizona Board of Nursing’s website https://www.azbn.gov/. The BSN pre-licensure program is fully approved by the New Mexico Board of Nursing, nmbon.sks.com.
