As a MIBC technician, you will be responsible for managing and organizing patient information, health records, and medical reports, while reporting key pieces of this information to insurance companies for reimbursement.
By enrolling in the Albuquerque MIBC program, you will learn how to assign the right medical billing and insurance codes to process any treatment or procedure that is performed within a hospital, clinic, medical lab, or rehab facility. You will also learn how to interact with patients when discussing their billing and payment options, or when processing their insurance claims.
Our MIBC training curriculum also includes an externship, through which you can apply your newfound knowledge and skills at one of our local healthcare offices or medical facilities. This hands-on experience will prepare you for what’s to come on the job as a MIBC technician.
Upon earning your MIBC diploma, you will be eligible for several field-related certifications and licensing exams, including the Certified Professional Coder exam, Certified Professional Biller exam, and Certified Coding Specialist exam. Certification is optional for employment, but it can help you stand out from other candidates in the field.
