What You’ll Learn

The Albuquerque accelerated nursing track combines online instruction with hands-on training exercises and laboratory simulations to provide you with the experience you’ll need before entering the field. Our novel transition to practice courses and clinical experiences will further prepare you for a successful transition into your nursing career. Our BSN courses will prepare you for the various processes, responsibilities, and medical procedures of nursing. You will also learn how to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care within various clinical settings.

Your clinical training will provide you with experience in either a hospital, laboratory, or clinic to supplement your BSN classes. Our goal is to help you develop the necessary skills and competencies to provide nursing care across the healthcare continuum.

Admissions Requirements for the Albuquerque ABSN Track

Applicants are required to take the complete HESI admission assessment examination. To be accepted into the accelerated BSN track, you must either have an existing Bachelor’s degree in another area or have completed the required 53 credits of general education courses. Required general education science and math courses include, but are not limited to the following courses (25 credits), which also have recency requirements of 5 years.

  • Anatomy and Physiology (two courses) with labs, a minimum of 8 semester credits
  • Microbiology with Lab, a minimum of 4 semester credits
  • Chemistry with Lab, a minimum of 4 semester credits
  • Statistics (in any field of study), a minimum of 3 semester credits.
  • Nutrition, a minimum of 3 semester credits
  • Pathophysiology, a minimum of 3 semester credit

Brookline College does not have delayed acceptance. Once you’re accepted into the ABSN track, you are in! Other schools usually won’t accept a student into the Nursing program until after completing a group of required classes and maintaining a cut-score GPA.

The Albuquerque Campus

Brookline College has recently moved to a single convenient location in Albuquerque, New Mexico with updated classrooms, study areas, and simulation labs that immerse our students in real-world healthcare environments. The campus can be found at 303 Roma Ave NW in downtown Albuquerque. The Albuquerque campus offers a welcoming open interior with outstanding hands-on instructional classrooms for programs in BSN, practical nursing, medical assisting and  occupational therapy assistant. It also offers a modern computer lab and quiet study lounge.

This campus hosts a learning resource center, where students can study, complete research, and expand their knowledge. The Learning Resource Center contains books, periodicals, and computers, as well as multiple databases and specialized programs to assist students in all aspects of their education and learning. Outside of class, students can chat and unwind in one of the campus break rooms, eat their lunch, or visit one of our nearby restaurants or coffee shops.

The Albuquerque campus is located just west of the Rio Grande on US RTE 66, minutes away from all the major highways. The intersection of 3rd and Roma is centrally located near the Big I (the intersection of I-40 and I-25), which is close to Central Avenue (“Route 66”), and near several methods of public transportation.
